A high school student from India, Praniti likes to call herself a ‘lover of words and phrases’ more than anything else. She believes that her life revolves around haikai literature, and was brought into this field by the world renowned poet, Kala Ramesh. A few months later, she began enriching her understanding of haibun, mentored by the award winning poet and acclaimed editor, Paresh Tiwari.

Since then, she has had her haiku and haibun published in journals such as Frogpond, Modern Haiku, Under The Basho, Heron’s Nest, Cattails, Asahi Shimbun, The Mainichi , Contemporary Haibun Online and Haibun Today amidst others. Recently, she came out with her first collection of haiku entitled The Dust still holds A Fingerprint created by John E Wordslinger and PoetryTrain.com. This book contains a foreword by the revered and highly acclaimed poet, Alan Summers and has been reviewed by the chief editor, Don Baird. .

Praniti aims to spread the beauty of haikai literature among young, talented poets and wishes that they ‘take haikai with them wherever they go, for it is not just a form of poetry, it is life’.
